National Theatre For Children:

Montana Pennies to Paychecks

The National Theatre for Children, an acclaimed troupe of professional actors, will be touring Montana middle schools from September 28 – October 2, giving free, educational performances about financial literacy.

The Minneapolis-based theatre company regularly tours U.S. schools offering sketch comedy, educational performances for children that have been empirically proven to produce increased awareness and knowledge about the subject area in the students who attend performances.

The 40-minute Pennies to Paychecks performance uses suggestions from the students to create one-of-a-kind sketches filled with colorful characters and comedic situations. The sketches include a babysitter finding out about tax deductions on their paycheck, a game show that ties together the concepts of risk and investing, a student deciding whether to purchase a laptop using a debit or credit card, and living a “day in the life” of a student to discover how everyday choices can impact finances.
