The governor’s action is a continuation of the Senior Financial Exploitation Team announced in January by state Auditor Matt Rosendale, which was a partnership between Attorney General Tim Fox and the Department of Justice and agencies such as Department of Public Health and Human and Department of Administration, Bullock’s staff said.
The order designates the ad hoc task force as a criminal justice agency which lets them coordinate investigations across jurisdictions. It will also offer education and outreach in local communities.
