Lindeen brings acclaimed theater troupe for 14 school performances

HELENA, Mont. – The National Theatre for Children, an acclaimed troupe of professional actors, will be touring Montana middle schools next week, giving free, educational performances about financial literacy.

The Minneapolis-based theatre company regularly tours U.S. schools offering sketch comedy, educational performances for children that have been empirically proven to produce increased awareness and knowledge about the subject area in the students who attend performances.

Montana Securities Commissioner Monica J. Lindeen is bringing the troupe to Montana for 14 free performances at middle schools stretching from Browning to Glendive.

“Good personal money management is crucial for a Montanan’s success in life,” Lindeen said. “The National Theatre for Children has decades of experience offering compelling, entertaining performances geared to kids that help explain complicated topics like personal finance. I’m happy to have them back.”

During the forty-minute play comprised of a series of comedic sketches, students learn how to prioritize needs and wants, the difference between saving and investing, the difference between cash and credit and the importance of forming a savings habit.

The tour spans September 29th through October 3rd, with visits to schools in Gallatin, Glacier, Big Horn, Rosebud, and Dawson among other cities.
