OBTAINING A RESIDENT INSURANCE LICENSE

STEP 1: PASS THE LICENSING EXAM

  • Review Candidate Handbook & Content Outlines
  • Register For Exam
  • Pass the exam with a score of 75% or better
STEP 2: APPLY FOR A LICENSE THROUGH NIPR

  • Visit NIPR
  • Review State Requirements
  • Apply for a new license
STEP 3: SUBMIT APPLICANT RIGHTS & CONSENT TO FINGERPRINT FORM

STEP 4: SUBMIT FINGERPRINTS & FEE DIRECTLY TO MONTANA CRIMINAL RECORDS DIVISION

  • Review fingerprint information on the CSI website for instructions on how to complete the fingerprint card.
  • Ensure the correct statute for the license type being applied for is listed in the reason fingerprinted.
  • Send the completed fingerprint card and required fee directly to the Montana Criminal Records Division.
    Completed fingerprint cards sent to the CSI will be returned to the applicant.
