OBTAINING A RESIDENT INSURANCE LICENSE
STEP 1: PASS THE LICENSING EXAM
- Visit PearsonVUE
- Review Candidate Handbook & Content Outlines
- Register For Exam
- Pass the exam with a score of 75% or better
STEP 2: APPLY FOR A LICENSE THROUGH NIPR
- Visit NIPR
- Review State Requirements
- Apply for a new license
STEP 3: SUBMIT APPLICANT RIGHTS & CONSENT TO FINGERPRINT FORM
- Review the form and Privacy Act Statement on the CSI website
- Sign the form and submit to csiapplicantrights@mt.gov
STEP 4: SUBMIT FINGERPRINTS & FEE DIRECTLY TO MONTANA CRIMINAL RECORDS DIVISION
- Review fingerprint information on the CSI website for instructions on how to complete the fingerprint card.
- Ensure the correct statute for the license type being applied for is listed in the reason fingerprinted.
- Send the completed fingerprint card and required fee directly to the Montana Criminal Records Division.
Completed fingerprint cards sent to the CSI will be returned to the applicant.
